His first appearance on the show ‘Half-Hour Comedy Hour’ shown on MTV led to the network offering him an exclusive contract of three years and a role in the episode of a ‘dopey game show’. But Rogan declined and start negotiating to several networks.

Afterward, he accepted a deal with the Disney network. Rogan starred as Joe Garrelli in the in the NBC sitcom ‘News radio’ from 1995-1999. This role was originally set to be played by Ray Romano but after one rehearsal Ray was let go from the cast and Rogan was brought in.

Joseph James Rogan was born on August 11th, 1967, in the most populous city of New Jersey, Newark. It is the same place where Joe’s grandfather moved in with the family in the 1940s. He is of Italian and Irish descent. Rogan’s father, Joseph worked as a policeman in Newark. Rogan’s parents got divorced when he was just five years of age. Rogan’s father was not in touch from the time when he was seven and he moved to San Francisco with his family.

Joe remembers his father’s habits of domestic violence and claims that nothing bad had happened to him. When Rogan turned 11, he and his family moved again to Gainesville, Florida and settled in the village Newton Upper Falls, Massachusetts. Rogan attended Newton South High School.

In his early teens, Rogan developed his interest in martial arts. He was loaded with dreams and confidence to opt martial arts so he got attracted towards it. Also, he began competing in taekwondo and karate competitions at the age of 14.
